More than 300 people were taken on a musical journey by renowned Quebec tenor Marc Hervieux who performed a benefit concert for the Lachine Hospital Foundation on November 20, 2014. The event raised $26,500.

Hervieux, accompanied by his pianist, performed a wide variety of musical styles from classic opera to contemporary. Interpretations of songs by Sinatra and Piaf were some of the many highlights of the evening.

It was a packed house at the Lachine performance hall l’Entrepôt, where Hervieux performed. All money raised will go towards the continued modernization of the Lachine Hospital.

In between songs Hervieux regaled the audience with humorous anecdotes about his career and family. He then mingled with the crowd for more than an hour following the performance to sign autographs and take photos.

“We are thrilled with the success of this event and wish to thank all those who participated in this great evening for their continued support, and of course to the talented Marc Hervieux whose performance was an absolute delight,” said Jacques Filion, chairman of the Lachine Hospital Foundation’s board of directors. “It’s community-driven events like these that allow the Foundation to carry out numerous hospital-wide improvements that benefit patient care, and we’re especially excited when we can bring world-class talent to Lachine.”

Members of the Lachine Hospital Foundation’s Council of Governors were also recognized during the evening for their commitment to growing the Foundation and the immense support they have shown over the years.
